Senior Loss Prevention Counsel

Timothy M. Schank

Overview

Tim Schank advises ALAS member firms on loss prevention and well-being issues. He focuses on each firm’s unique size, structure, and culture to help them develop practical solutions to loss prevention issues.

Whether he is counseling a firm or leading conference sessions, Tim focuses on connecting with his audience. In many situations, bolstering a firm’s loss prevention efforts benefits both risk management and the firm’s business, and Tim emphasizes this connection. He strives to make his loss prevention presentations both creative and memorable. His presentations on this important topic address the relationship between well-being and sound loss prevention and provide practical recommendations for firms and all personnel.

Before joining ALAS, Tim worked as the assistant general counsel at Vedder Price P.C. in Chicago. In that role, he gained firsthand experience in implementing ALAS-recommended policies and procedures in a large law firm. These experiences shaped his ability to advise firm general counsel and management. Tim also learned the importance of applying change management principles when implementing new policies, procedures, and systems. Prior to that, he was a member of the firm’s litigation department. Tim began his career clerking for the Honorable James Alesia in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

When not working, Tim spends much of his time with his family, traveling, playing games, volunteering, and watching band performances and basketball and water polo games.
