Mindy Medley is Senior Counsel in ALAS’s Member Services Department. Mindy focuses her work on new business acquisition and retention efforts through renewal and new firm underwriting.
Mindy assists members with their insurance coverage questions regarding ALAS’s LPL, MLI/EPLI, and cyber liability coverages, questions related to outside counsel guidelines, and issues that arise in connection with members’ merger transactions and lateral hiring, including prior acts underwriting. She also works closely with attorneys from other ALAS departments to facilitate loss prevention programming and other member support issues.
Prior to joining ALAS in 2021, Mindy was an insurance coverage litigator for 20 years at Clausen Miller P.C. in Chicago. In that role, Mindy counseled carriers and litigated their coverage issues arising out of first-party property, cyber, fidelity, surety, D&O, and CGL policies throughout the United States. Mindy also served on Clausen Miller’s Finance Committee, Associate Compensation Committee, Summer Intern Committee, and she led the firm’s Marketing Committee. Mindy’s deep insurance knowledge and experience in firm leadership complements her role in Member Services at ALAS.
Outside of the office, Mindy enjoys spending time with her family where they live in downtown Chicago, serving on Washington University’s Regional Cabinet, cheering on the Chicago Bulls, and working on her golf game.
