Hired as ALAS’s first in-house actuary in 1997, Jeff Wood’s role has evolved from initially serving as liaison between ALAS’s management team and external actuarial consultants to presently managing ALAS’s actuarial team in the Financial Department and serving as the actuarial representative on the senior management team. Jeff oversees all internal actuarial functions, including analytical support in the areas of reserving, retail pricing, capital planning, enterprise risk management, and auditing.
Prior to joining ALAS, Jeff spent 10 years serving in various actuarial positions for a major insurance/reinsurance company, actuarial consulting firm, and specialty reinsurance broker, working most recently on professional liability risks, including lawyers’ professional liability.
