Givonna St. Clair Long

Overview

As a member of ALAS’s loss prevention group, Givonna St. Clair Long focuses on shaping and implementing strategies to help member firms avoid or mitigate professional liability exposure.  

Her responsibilities include writing and speaking on topics related to professional responsibility, ethics, and risk management. Givonna offers guidance to member firms on ethical issues, claims avoidance, and effective risk management. 

Prior to joining ALAS, Givonna was a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in Chicago, where she focused on complex business litigation, class action defense, and regulatory investigations. She also was a member of the firm’s ethics committee. In 2017, Givonna received the Burton Award for achievements in law and legal writing, and in 2018, she was named to the Chicago Business Journal’s list of “2018 Women of Influence.” 

In her free time, Givonna travels around the world to watch her son compete in both domestic and international karate competitions.
