Brett M. Baden

Overview

Brett Baden is the Senior Data Scientist in the ALAS Data Insights & Analytics Department. Brett performs deep research into special topics of interest to members. 

Brett is the author of ALAS Edge, which investigates research topics of interest to members. His two most recent research projects were related to cybersecurity and lateral hires. Brett also supports ALAS’s data dashboards and sets up anonymized clusters for members to compare their experience to other members’ data without violating confidentiality.   

Brett has over 25 years of experience investigating complex data-driven problems, which he uses in driving and delivering quantitative legal and operational insights for ALAS member firms. Brett was a professor at Tufts University and is currently an adjunct at DePaul University’s Kellstadt School of Business. Brett has worked at several data science firms, including Nielsen, Civis Analytics, and Project44.   

Brett enjoys cycling, playing trivia, and going to music festivals. He is an active volunteer and sometime guitar student at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music.
